본 연구는 스트레스 과정 모델을 기반으로 직무스트레스가 사회복지사의 정신건강에 미치는 영향을 파악하는 것이다. 특히 직무스트레스가 사회복지사의 정신건강에 미치는 직접효과 뿐만 아니라 사회복지지의 매개효과가 정신건강에 영향을 미치는지 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 대구광역시 소재 총 25개의 종합사회복지관에서 근무하고 있는 사회복지사 258명을 대상으로 구조화된 설문지를 통해 조사된 결과를 분석하였다. 자료분석은 18.0을 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 직무스트레스, 사회복지사의 정신건강, 사회적지지는 상관관계가 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 직무스트레스가 사회복지사의 정신건강에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 직무스트레스의 수준이 높을수록 사회복지사의 정신건강을 저하시키는 것이다. 또한 사회적지지는 직무스트레스와 사회복지사의 정신건강 사이에서 부분적으로 매개효과를 나타내었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 직무스트레스를 경감시키고 효과적으로 관리하기 위해 사회복지사의 직무스트레스에 대한 몇 가지 실천방안을 제언하였다.
The purpose of this study is to see the impact of job stress on mental health of social workers based on the stress model. In particular, this study investigated direct effect of job stress on mental health of social workers, as well as the mediating effects of social support on the relationships between job stress and mental health of social workers.
The data of this study are based on 258 social workers working at a total of 25 social welfare centers in Daegu through survey. The data analysis was done using SPSS 18.0.
The major findings of this study were as follows:
First, the study showed that there were significant associations among job stress, mental health of social workers, and social support.
Second, the job stress had direct influences on the mental health of social workers. In other words, the higher levels of job stress is, the worse the mental health of social workers become.
Third, the social support appeared to play the role as partial mediator between job stress and mental health of social workers. But the social support didn"t appear to be moderator between job stress and mental health of social workers.
Based on these findings, various theoretical and practical implications for social welfare and social works were discussed.
